If you have been a part of congregation has gone through a pastoral transition, you know how critical the interim time of a church's life can be to the future health and ministry of the church. With high rates of retirement and transition in congregations, the need for well-qualified interim ministers is increasing.
Although interim ministry is often done by clergy in or near retirement, it's also a great opportunity for women (or anyone) new to ministry. One of the best ways to help churches open doors to women in ministry is through an experience of excellent interim women pastors. It's good for the pastor and great for the church and the future of women in ministry.
At Central, we are committed to providing the best possible resources for congregational health today. That is why we are providing this opportunity for folks to develop or strengthen skills for the critical work of interim ministry at a workshop on Interim Ministry for Today's Church . We are partnering with nationally respected leaders in the field, The Center for Congregational Health, to co-sponsor the event on Central's campus in Shawnee, KS (Kansas City metro area).
We hope, if you are interested in interim ministry, you will take advantage of this exceptional opportunity to refresh or expand your ministry skills for the service of the church as an interim minister. If not, send it to someone you know who might be interested.
