Our Board of Directors and Churchnet Staff are organized into a series of ministry teams. These teams allow us to better focus on our strategic initiatives and respond to requests from churches.
Pastors, church staff and other ministers face incredible challenges as they seek to fulfill their call to ministry. We are committed to developing and providing the resources and tools to assist pastors and church staff and enhance their leadership and ministry. These resources include:

Assistance to ministers seeking endorsement as a chaplain

Counseling for ministers and their families

Support and assistance for disenfranchised churches and pastors

Many Baptist congregations and individuals feel isolated and alone because of denominational conflict and congregational transitions. We are committed to creating a community for worship, fellowship, and genuine ministry partnership--a place where believers and churches have a sense of belonging. We are seeking to do this as we:

Provide opportunities for worship and fellowship at annual gatherings and in other settings

Provide opportunities for churches to support and partner with Baptist institutions, agencies, and associations

Assist local church search committees seeking God's will for a new pastor or staff member

Facilitate the process of bringing churches together through networks, partnerships, listening sessions and resource development projects

Develop partnerships and networks with other Baptists and Christians around the world
Verlyn Bergen serves as the Resources & Relationships Team Leader. Verlyn earned a Bachelor of Arts at Panhandle State University in Goodwell, OK. He also earned a Master of Education from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, TX, and a Doctor of Ministry from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Kanas City, MO. Verlyn has ministered in a variety of settings including pastor, student minister and educator. For 25 years he led the Missouri Baptist Convention in small groups, church growth and leadership development. He has served in various leadership capacities for numerous professional organizations. For 7 years prior to joining the Churchnet staff he has served as Pastor of the Nashville Baptist Church and Co-Founder of MinistryConnect, LLC.
